GUIDO MARIA KRETSCHMER

Kretschmer started his label with only three employees and worked predominantly in the corporate fashion sector. He closed his first major deal with the German airline Hapag Lloyd and designed uniforms for the crew members.
Furthermore, Kretschmer produced over two-and-a-half million outfits for Europe’s leading tourism group TUI through the years.
Today Kretschmer is the most successful corporate fashion designer in Europe. He designed uniforms for ‘Deutsche Telekom’, ‘Maritim’, ‘Montblanc’, ‘SPAR’, ‘MS Europa’ and many more.
In 2004 the designer fulfilled his dream and founded his label ‘Guido Maria Kretschmer Couture’. He introduced his designs first in Shanghai and Tokyo. In 2005 Kretschmer presented his couture line for the first time in Germany at Berlin Fashion Week. The media and press celebrated the newcomer and named him ‘the German Valentino’.
Kretschmer also designs for international opera-, theater- and movie productions. He created costumes for productions such as ‘Der Babier von Sevilla’ and the legendary Shakespeare- and Oscar Wilde plays by Katharina Thalbach for the German Opera Berlin. The designer also produced costumes for the movies ‘Hände weg von Mississippi’ and ‘Rubbeldiekatz’ by Detlev Buck.
Kretschmer is famously known for his glamorous dresses made from luxurious materials-his trademark. He has dressed numerous celebrities such as Alexandra Maria Lara, Martina Gedeck, Jane Seymour, Charlize Theron, Patricia Kaas and Jasmin Tabatabai.
In the summer of 2009 the designer opened the first ‘Guido Maria Kretschmer Store’ in Munich. No wonder that he is the ideal styling critic for the Vox TV-Show ‘Shopping Queen’.
