The Fall/Winter 2013-14 men’s fashion show held its debut in Paris joining the other collections of the house. The collection had a modernist feel based on a search for clarity and simplicity, setting the tone for the new Valentino man.

Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpoalo Piccioli approached the menswear collection with couture instincts yet perspective was altered. The collection showed their desire to build an ideal wardrobe. Couture tailoring reflected a British influence without losing Italian sensuality.

Capes created mysterious movement, leather bonded coats had strong architectural lines and suits were sartorial sleek. Fabrics included houndstooth and prince-of-wales check, black watch tartan as well as masculine checks.

Accessories included derby shoes made of a combination of different materials and Chelsea boots with transparent soles. There are triple clutches with wide bands and small wallets with elasticized bands.  The look is elegant, understated and sleek: the quintessence of flawless imperfection.
