Bobby Kolade – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

Kolade’s background is, just like his fashion, international. Born in Sudan to German-Nigerian parents, he grew up in Kampala, where he attended a British school before moving to Berlin in the summer of 2005. Kolade completed his fashion design studies at The Academy of Arts Weißensee in 2013. Prior to launching his eponymous label in Berlin, he spent two years in Paris working at Maison Martin Margiela and Balenciaga.

BOBBY KOLADE celebrates the idea of strong women in suits. The collections use spontaneity and dynamism to breathe new life into traditional values. The label is upbeat and international. Kolade describes the BOBBY KOLADE woman simply with two words: inquisitive and sophisticated. Wool suits and coats made of rare fabrics such as Ugandan bark cloth or hand-woven Ethiopian cotton, are statement pieces in his collections. Every item is tailor-made in Germany and excellently executed. BOBBY KOLADE embodies true luxury.

Lena Hoschek – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

The Austrian designer, known for her vintage-inspired fashion, launched her label in 2005. Twice a year, Lena Hoschek presents a prêt-à-porter collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. Her collections also feature a range of accessories, including shoes and sunglasses. Born of her love for artisan tailoring, the designer also presents two collections of traditional Austrian ‘Trachten’ clothing each year, for the “LENA HOSCHEK TRADITION” line. In addition, since 2012, “LENA HOSCHEK ATELIER” has been creating beautiful made-to-measure wedding dresses and eveningwear. LENA HOSCHEK pieces are made using only the highest quality materials, all sourced in Europe. Each item is produced by selected specialist clothing manufacturers, also based in Europe. Lena Hoschek has stores in Graz, Vienna and Berlin. The collection is also available for purchase from her online shop.

Aleks Kurkowksi – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

Born in Poland, Aleks Kurkowski immigrated with her family to West Germany at the age of 8. First, it was her plan to study architecture or mathematics. Tempted by a documentary about design, she decided to go into fashion. The designer started gaining experience in small design studios and worked in the fashion industry for a few years after her graduation at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Hannover. In 2012 Aleks Kurkowski followed her dream and started her own label. In September 2013 the designer did the next step to professionalize her business by moving to Berlin. Her affinity for architecture and mathematics she now implements into her collections through straight-lined and geometric shapes.

Anja Gockel – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

Anja Gockel is one of the most successful fashion designers Made in Germany. After her studies in Hamburg she received a scholarship for the reputable Central Saint Martins College in London and worked with legendary Vivienne Westwood afterwards. She created her label ANJA GOCKEL in 1996. Four years later, she returned to Mainz and launched ANJA GOCKEL Ltd. Her collections are sold in the best shops throughout Germany and in 20 countries worldwide. Her designs are worn by Queen Silvia of Sweden, Marietta Slomka, Ann-Kathrin Kramer and Martina Hill, to name just a few. Besides international top models like Alec Wek and Lily Cole, the 72-year-old Veruschka alias Countess of Lehndorff and tattoo model Lexy Hell walk the ANJA GOCKEL fashion shows. In March 2012, Anja Gockel established the first ANJA GOCKEL Monolabel-Store in Mainz next to her fashion studio. Since 2013, the winner of the German Lifestyle Award 2012/2013 also sells her fashion online under www.anja-gockel-shop.com.

Kilian Kerner – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

Kilian Kerner was born and raised in Cologne. From 2000 until 2003 he took drama courses in Cologne and Berlin, before he finally launched his label KILIAN KERNER in 2004.

His collections arise and work with feelings. His designs are telling stories and create an emotional world fitting to the current collection theme.

From the combination of the craftsmanship loving French Ode?ly Teboul and construction affine German Annelie Augustin sprung the label AUGUSTIN TEBOUL in 2010 – a label on the edge between ready-to-wear and haute couture. As if the subversive claim „paint it black“ was stitched into the sophisticated designs, the re-discovery of femininity finds a post-romantic echo in the luxurious, clear- black clothes. Inspired by surrealism, the duo leaves space for chance in the process of creation, while insisting on flawless workmanship and uncovers the innumerable variations and shadows of the colour black through their unique textile designs.
