He has worked on projects with Burberry, Paul Smith and Dunhill, furthermore great brands such as Miele and Volkswagen are amongst his customers. He finally devoted himself to the glamour of fashion with the founding of his own label Marcel Ostertag in 2006. CLEMENS EN AUGUST Spring Summer 2015 MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK BERLIN

What are clothes supposed to reveal about a person? "Nothing", says Alexander Brenninkmeijer. "My clothes don’t tell you a thing; but the wearer knows the feeling of fine silk, satin or cashmere and the clothes always fit well. That’s what I call luxury."

Brenninkmeijer prefers to play down the label’s exclusivity in a variation of themes. Tennis stripes on coat fabrics, leather cuffs or headbands: his current collection combines trendy, casual details to create a sombre Royal chic.

For this season, Brenninkmeijer drew his inspiration from the American-influenced informality that he encountered in Wes Anderson’s cult film "The Royal Tenenbaums" (2001).

Mesmerised by the fragility of the characters, Brenninkmeijer believes that their defining cha-racteristics are reflected in the way they dress.
