SCHUMACHER

BLAME

Blame, the label of designer duo Sarah Büren and Sonja Hodzode, stands for off-beat and wearable designs, that combine classical cuts with vintage influenced details. The two designers have a fascination for special finds and collector pieces, which they first discovered in their mothers´ wardrobes. Today this enthusiasm is expressed in vintage inspired collections, that are always mixed with contemporary designs and presented in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

The duo’s talent for selecting independent colors, prints and materials – combined with traditional workmanship – enrich the simple, almost classical cuts. Casual basics in special materials supplement the collection and influence a modern style, thus creating an independent Blame look: international and unique.

The two fashion designers – who already worked for Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss, Michael Michalsky and Preen – have known each other since 2001. After gathering experience at those international brands over a period of 5 years, they fulfilled their dream of launching their own label in Berlin in 2010.
Blame won the “Premium Young Designers Award” with its Fall/Winter 2012 collection.

Sarah and Sonja created a brand that places emphasis on timelessness and a love to detailing. Blame states their vision of fashion that can be worn for longer than just one or two seasons. The special and yet everyday style serves a modern woman’s needs of favourite pieces for daily wear and different occasions.

AUGUSTIN TEBOUL

From the combination of the craftsmanship loving French Odély Teboul and construction affine German Annelie Augustin sprung in 2010 AUGUSTIN TEBOUL, a label on the edge between Ready-to-Wear and Haute Couture. As if the subversive claim „paint it black“ was stitched into the sophisticated designs, the re-discovery of femininity finds a post-romantic echo in the luxurious, clear-black clothes. Inspired by surrealism the duo leaves space for chance in the process of creation, while insisting on flawless workmanship. The label received the highest priced German fashion award SYFB last year.

LENA HOSCHEK

After assisting Vivienne Westwood at her London studio, Lena Hoschek started her own label in 2006 at the age of 24. Her collections do not follow trends or the general conception of ‘cool’, they are simply a reflection of what has fascinated her since her childhood: the female ideal of the 40s and 50s, craftsmanship, high-end tailoring, traditional materials and patterns but also rock ‘n’ roll and punk music, tattoos, bad guys and fast cars.
Celebrating the erotics of the Pin-up who didn’t take herself too seriously, her clothes are made for all the Sophia Lorens and Marilyn Monroe’s of today. Lena Hoschek’s collections take you back to times when women were real women and men were real men. I bet, when designing, she secretly dreams of Rhett Butler.

In addition to these intriguing images, Mario Testino has also created a captivating fashion film, bringing the mysterious scene to life. A night watchman is guarding an underground warehouse of the most beautiful creations on earth, draped in monochrome and protected from prying eyes. A striking beauty, Joan Smalls, reveals herself by casting away the drapes that also concealed her. Trentemøller’s Vamp soundtracks this timeless collection, as Smalls reclaims her idea of the modern masterpiece by unveiling the CLS Shooting Brake and driving away, laughing audaciously.
