MONGRELS IN COMMON

Neglecting ethnic, national and generic barriers they combine pieces of a cultural kaleidoscope creating a different style. Uncompromisingly mixing masculine severity and straightness with female delicacy together with high-quality materials they present a look that is elegant and exclusive as well as sexy and cool.
From the very beginning, blouses have been noted as the “Signature Piece” of mongrels in common. Every season, the designers Christine Pluess and Livia Ximenez-Carillo give their bestsellers new details, each carrying the mongrels look. Most notable are the “Piercing-Blouses” in which traditional buttons are replaced by silver or gold piercings, a unique feature of the iconic mongrels item. Their appeal is universal; even women who would not wear blouses make an exception for mongrels in common. Unconventional elegance, easy flow along the body and clear lines are significant in the mongrels aesthetic.

MICHAEL SONTAG

Michael Sontag´s perennial and cognitive attitude to the development of his work has remained within his Spring/Summer 2012 collection. He continues to break through the set parameters of fashion, allowing his work to develop with clarity from his previous seasons.
Detached from trends, age and seasons, Michael has created a wearable collection for the elegant, confident and sensual woman. Sontag has maintained the naturalness in his designs, allowing the fabric to fall in dialog with the female forms.
The refreshing colour palette evokes a semblance of breezy Summer days, using a base of muted chalky tones of blue, white and brown. The combination of powdery colours and luminous fabrics, conjure an image of dust glowing in the sunlight.

ISSEVER BAHRI and MARCEL OSTERTAG at MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK BERLIN THE SPRING/SUMMER 2013 COLLECTIONS

ISSEVER BAHRI

In July 2010 ISSEVER BAHRI’ s debut collection for S/S 2011 was launched during the Berlin fashion fair PREMIUM where the label was awarded the annual initiated PREMIUM "Young Designers Award”. With their third collection they won the second prize of the “ Start Your Fashion Business” Award in July 2011.

ISSEVER BAHRI stands for innovative fashion. The conceptual and experimental approach to their collections is combined with wearability, longevity and a high standard of quality in materials, workmanship and fit. Thereby it is important for Derya Issever and Cimen Bachri to look at traditions found in their root countries, Greece and Turkey. For ISSEVER BAHRI the work approach is to combine traditions with modern style and techniques to generate a new standard. They translate classical approaches in handcrafted techniques, materials and pattern cutting according to each collection concept. This is then fused into a modern context of uncompromising aesthetics.

BLAME

Blame, the label of designer duo Sarah Büren and Sonja Hodzode, stands for off-beat and wearable designs, that combine classical cuts with vintage influenced details. The two designers have a fascination for special finds and collector pieces, which they first discovered in their mothers´ wardrobes. Today this enthusiasm is expressed in vintage inspired collections, that are always mixed with contemporary designs and presented in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

The duo’s talent for selecting independent colors, prints and materials – combined with traditional workmanship – enrich the simple, almost classical cuts. Casual basics in special materials supplement the collection and influence a modern style, thus creating an independent Blame look: international and unique.

The two fashion designers – who already worked for Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss, Michael Michalsky and Preen – have known each other since 2001. After gathering experience at those international brands over a period of 5 years, they fulfilled their dream of launching their own label in Berlin in 2010.
Blame won the “Premium Young Designers Award” with its Fall/Winter 2012 collection.
