Pearly Wong – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

PEARLY WONG is an independent designer label in which the brand DNA focuses on a monochrome palate and multi-functional garments whilst integrating unique materials and textures into the designs.

The eponymous label is founded by Pearly, who studied at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York. With parents already in the garment industry, Malaysian born Pearly Wong returned to her home country in 2012 and launched her label, showing at Kuala Lumpur Fashion week in 2013 and in 2014.

In 2013, Pearly was named the winner of Fashion Pitch in Malaysia, an award given to young designers to spur the creative industry in the region. She went on to receive the award by the prime minister of Malaysia in 2014.

For FW15 collection, Pearly draws inspiration from the decline of the environment and convertible utilitarian clothing – this collection is an exciting study of texture and shape.

The Berlin menswear label SOPOPULAR was established in 2008. Founder Daniel Blechman is not only the designer of the brand, but also creative director.

With its menswear collection SOPOPULAR pursues a seasonal and yet timeless basic line for men. Precise cutting provides a perfect fit and high wearing comfort. The label attaches great importance to local production. Every piece is produced at the studio in Berlin-Neukölln.

Masculine look with a hint of urban touch – the typical SOPOPULAR silhouette consists of an incised shape and classical tailoring. Architectural, clear lines are combined with ingenious details and practical utility.

SOPOPOLAR mainly stands for restrained colour compositions like black, white and shades of grey. Due to seasonal conditions different nuances of moss-green, navy or bordeaux are stylishly integrated into the collections of Daniel Blechman.

Independently of specific seasons the collections can be combined with each other, either in a classical, discreet way or conspicuously. Always a little provoking and constantly courageous SOPOPULAR is an invitation to hold steady.

DYN – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

Born 1987 in Steinfurt Germany, Frida Homann completed her studies in 2013 with a master‘s degree in Fashion Design at HTW Berlin. While studying, the eager designer founded her own label DYN in 2011 and exhibited her collections at various events including NEMONIA, Scoop Collective Fashion Show and Wedding Dress. The designer’s passion for grand stage productions has compelled her to peak in this craft and is now able to reminisce about her first achievement in competitions: in 2011 where she won the EVOQUE Fashion Forward semi-final with a publication in QVEST magazine. In addition, Frida Homann was placed under the top 30 at the Peek & Cloppenburg ‘up and coming award’, ”Designer for Tomorrow”. In January 2014, DYN won a slot at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin financed by the Berlin senate and is currently under the top 12 of the fashion competition ”Start Your Own Fashion Business”.

El Stylist estuvo a cargo de Joseph Da’Ponte con una selección de varios diseñadores de Puerto Rico.

Entre los diseñadores se encuentran: Of Atelier, Eddie Guerrero, Angela Merino, Fernando Gantier, Kelvin Giovanni e Ivelisse Nieves. Todos en colaboración para que esta beldad puertorriqueña de el máximo representando su isla, Puerto Rico.

Odeur – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

ODEUR was founded in Stockholm in 2006 as a brand experiment, using a specific white, light and clean scent instead of a visual logotype to label the graphic and dramatic, yet playful garments. The first collection included a few t-shirt styles that where distributed amongst a few initial clients in Sweden and Japan.

Today ODEUR is designed by Petter Hollström and Gorjan Lauseger and has spread to over 20 countries, selling jeans, outerwear, accessories and fashion clothing. Amongst others the collections are represented at Harvey Nichols in Hong Kong, Temporary Showroom in Berlin and Oki-Ni in London

Sadak – Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin Autumn/Winter 2015/16

Sasa Kovacevic is a Serbian-born fashion and stage designer. He graduated from fashion design at Kunsthochschule Weissensee Berlin and also studied stage and costume design at the Academy of Art, Belgrade. In addition he has been designing fashion for his own label – SADAK that has presented collections since 2010 in Paris and Tokyo. Recently Sasa´s costumes and designs have been featured in Hunger Games 3, Mockingjay Part 1 by Francis Lawrence as well as at the world premiere of Tezuka by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and seen on stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Donald Sutherland and Julianne Moore.
