In Spring 2015 William Fan debuted at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin with his eponymous collection. The German designer with Asian roots passed his bachelor’s program at the renowned art college Artez in Arnhem, Netherlands, and then worked for the British couture house Alexander McQueen. After his abroad experience he successfully completed the master’s program at the art college Berlin Weissensee.  WILLIAM FAN distorts, composes and interprets a Euro-Asian context in his very own, elegant and calm way. This new form language is ageless and unisex. He has always been fascinated by the aesthetics of simple uniforms. Therefore he utilizes leather, pure new wool or silk to re-interpret the image of workwear in an individual way.  WILLIAM FAN offers a high quality and functional wardrobe that mixes classical tailoring with innovative materials for men and women. The designer’s passion and his striving for perfection result in a sophisticated transformation of a dialogue between Asian and European contrasts. It focuses on textures, innovative haptics and specific closing techniques. Asian materials like cashmere and silk are combined with technopolyesther and bast fibre. This unconventional merging of materials creates a harmonic unison due to a modern tailoring.  The label collaborates with manufactures in Germany and Hong Kong and has a high standard of traditional craftsmanship.  The Spring/Summer 2016 collection is a personally composed journey to the designer’s second home. The variety and the peculiar contrasts of Hong Kong can be found in it.
